PRSA Spokane

The PRSA Spokane Chapter has been chartered for many years, managed by an executive board and committee members. The Chapter connects PRSA members in the Inland Northwest through social events and networking meetings to help them be empowered through all stages of their careers.

Amy Aiello
President

Amy currently serves as the Internal Communications Specialist at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights, Washington. In her role, she is responsible for the creation and distribution of strategic company-wide communication campaigns and assists with all public and media relations.

Previously, Amy managed accounts and business development efforts at a public relations agency with clients in industries ranging from transportation, forest management, municipal government, and state-wide educational programs. 

Since January 1, 2021, Amy has served as the PRSA Greater Spokane Chapter Secretary. She also serves as the Communications Chair on the Women in Transportation (WTS) Spokane – Couer d’Alene Chapter Board. She is thrilled to serve her communities and associated industries in this capacity. 

Amy holds a B.A. in Communication and Public Relations from Boise State University. Outside her career and board duties, she is an avid crafter and spends time agility-training with her dog, Theo. 

Julie Holland
Programming & Past President

Julie Holland began working for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians when she joined the Northern Quest Resort & Casino team in 2012. She currently serves as the Director of Public Relations for KTEA, the Tribe’s business development arm.

With more than 25 years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing and public relations, Julie oversees public and media relations, crisis comm, and internal comm for Northern Quest and all other KTEA businesses.

She graduated from Central Washington University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and worked as a reporter, fill-in anchor and Executive Producer for the ABC affiliate (KAPP TV) in Yakima for about three years, covering a wide variety of stories. Her public relations and marketing experience includes stints in agriculture and education in the Yakima Valley and healthcare and hospitality in Spokane.

Julie currently serves on the board of directors for Teen & Kid Closet and is the acting President of the PRSA’s Greater Spokane Chapter. She grew up in Eastern Washington, loves to travel, and currently has two children in college, Grace (21) and Jake (18).

Lori Maricle
Treasurer

Lori Maricle is the director of communication for the Washington Grain Commission and a production editor for Wheat Life Magazine.

She has been accredited in public relations (APR) through PRSA since 2017, with strategic communications experience in agriculture, business advocacy and health sciences education.

Her main professional interests include competitive strategy and assessment, marketing research and behavior, data analytics, and multimedia production.

She serves on the communication committee for the Wheat Foods Council as well as on the board for the PRSA Greater Spokane Chapter, serving as board president in 2017.

Lori earned a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from the WSU Edward R. Murrow College of Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in business management from the WSU Carson College. Lori returned to Spokane in 2021 after two years with the Association of Washington Business (AWB), in Olympia.

Before her role with AWB, she spent 12 years working for WSU, including five years as the communications director for the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Spokane and four years in administration and human resources at WSU in Pullman.

C. Brandon Chapman
Ambassador of Buzz

“Chappy” has been the director of marketing and communications at Washington State University’s College of Education since 2013.

He has 20+ years experience in marketing and communications, in both the private and public sectors, including various radio and TV stations, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and Sports Illustrated. He spent two seasons (2006 and 2007) as a professional baseball play-by-play broadcaster.

Chappy received his master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, his B.A. from WSU’s Edward R. Murrow School of Communication (he double majored in Spanish), and his associates degree in Radio/TV from Centralia College.

In the spirit of giving back, he is the faculty advisor for WSU’s student radio station (KUGR) and adjuncts classes every year for the Murrow College. He has also been heavily involved in community affairs, as an active Kiwanian and City Councilmember.

He has a broad skillset that includes web, media relations, podcasting, social media, photography, videography, and video editing.

He knows Bigfoot is real. He’s also a firm believer in the Oxford comma and thinks anyone who doesn’t use it is a savage.

Michelle Galey
Communications Chair

Michelle serves as a clinical assistant professor for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University.
With over 30 years of experience in professional communication, Michelle has experience on both the client side and the agency side of the business and has experience in non-profit, corporate, and higher ed. She has been teaching since 2004 for a variety of institutions. She earned a Master of Science in Communications from Eastern Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Montana State University. She previously served on the PRSA Greater Spokane board from 2007-2009 and is thrilled to be involved again as the Communications Chair. She is a huge dog and coffee lover and enjoys hanging out with her two Golden Retrievers (Ruby and Winnie) and getting frequent pup cups.

Lisa Cargill
APR Chair

Lisa Cargill, APR is a proud former PRSSA member and long-time PRSA member and APR Chair for PRSA Spokane. Her nearly 20-year career has included work for a public relations and marketing agency, state government, a non-profit and now a publicly-traded company. Lisa is currently a corporate communications principal at Itron, managing internal communications for more than 6,000 employees worldwide. She earned her APR in 2009 and has been a passionate advocate for others pursuing theirs ever since. Every day Lisa lives by the words on the sign at her desk which reads “Write without fear. Edit without mercy.”
